Hurricane Season in New England

Well here it is....as well all know too well in New England, that all the hurricanes traveling up the East coast from the gulf brings lots of rain. It definitely did rain this weekend, and even managed to bring the weather in enough that it didn't even meet IFR weather minimums. On Friday, the cloud ceiling as reported by BOS and for OWD it was sitting at 600 ft. AND Saturday, I guessed it to be lower since driving by the radio towers next to 128 South (which stand ~1400' tall) I could not even see the lower 1/3 of them. The cloud ceiling today was being reported at 380 feet. So, the last two days were not a total waste......since we haven't done any ground work yet since I started, this was the perfect opportunity. In the last 2 days, we spent about 5 hours going through 4 chapters worth of material. I'm pretty much ready for my 1st stage exam, and within the next 5-10 hours I will be ready to solo! I'm amazed at how quickly this is all happening. Now I just need my loan to be finalized and waiting for the 1st disbursement made. Patience truly is a virtue. Over the next several days I will be memorizing all the info in the 4 chapters we covered and study up on some extra material to get ready for my stage exam on Thursday. The weather is looking good so far for Thursday, but we all know how quickly that can change........stay tuned.
