Wow! I can't believe this is actually happening.....I retrieved a voicemail after work from Chris Porter at Horizon Aviation. He was calling to let me know that my loan application has been approved and he will have my paperwork ready for me when I arrive on Friday for my first lesson. Also, while I was waiting for my tire to be repaired at Town Fair Tire after work, I received another phone call, except this time from Rooks. He was calling to introduce himself and to let me know that he will be my Certified Flight Instructor for my Private Pilot license portion of my ratings. Or at least to start off with. He called just to confirm my first few lessons which are Friday at 1pm, and 2 lessons on Saturday between 1030 and 3. But, also to let me know what the plan is with the first lesson. Basically, we will take the 152 up for the first lesson and run through a few skills to see where I fall in terms of readiness and where we will progress in the training first.
Tomorrow I go to Fallon Clinic on Plantation Street in Worcester at 1030am to get my 1st Class Medical Certificate/Student Pilot Certificate. Since, in the long run I want to be flying for a corporate flight department or fractionals, I want to be sure that I will be able to meet their medical requirements. Given that Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are technically my weekends, I will be reviewing material on Thursday and using Microsoft Flight Simulator X to review the basic skills.
