Gusty winds and tropical storms

Welcome to New England......Mark Twain once wrote, "If you don't like the weather in New England, just wait a few minutes." Well in my case it would have taken much longer.

I arrived at Horizon Aviation 30 minutes early, as I had to get all my paperwork together and talk to Chris about scheduling. A few minutes later an instructor came back from lunch, and it was Rooks Turner, I was to be flying with him today. But, as we went down to the instructors area and began talking about my background and how much aviation knowledge I have, the weather reports began to roll in. Wind gusts on a crosswind to the runway were up to 22 knots. The plan we were going to be flying in was only rated up to 13 knots for a crosswind. So......unfortunately, it was a no go from there. AND...the looming leftovers from the hurricane was on its way up the coastline.....cancelling my two lesson I had scheduled for Saturday. Patience is really going to become a big part of this for me. But, I suppose that's par for the course when you start your flight lessons right in opportune hurricane season coming right up the coast.

After a bit of discussion between myself and proposed instructor, Rooks, and the Manager Chris about the scheduling difficulties, I decided to take a look at the scheduling availability at Norwood instead. It is equidistant for me in terms of travel from home to TF Green or Norwood. And Chris' repsonse to the availability for scheduling up in Norwood was, "What do you want?" A lot of availability! So now I am scheduled for 4 lessons next week, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in Norwood.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
