One Step Closer to Solo

Today was a beautiful day out there! It was looking a little scary at first in the morning when I woke up and there was nothing but grey clouds looming overhead. By my calculations based on temperature and dew point, they were less than 1000 feet above the ground. Not high enough to fly. By the time I made it out to Norwood, it was sunny, warm, and partly cloudy. As soon as I got there I got the "tin" where they keep the key to the plane and the hobbs and tach record, and went straight out to the plane to preflight it. We went up and out to the practice area and took care of the review of all the skills. Stalls, slow flight, simulated emergency landing, steep turns, and even some more time under the hood to simulate instrument conditions. I flew us back up to Norwood, and flew the pattern 3 times there to finish up the flying portion of my lesson. I did really well with the landings this time. I figured out what my wall has been in terms of having difficulties with the landings. This whole time.......it was me. I was overthinking it, and wasn't really flying the plane. As soon as I stopped myself and told myself to "just fly the plane," everything worked out great! 2 overall pretty good landings. The last 1, I just came in waaaaay too high, so I at least got to practice a forward slip in there too! haha I'm definitely feeling much better about my landings and am looking forward to the opportunity to solo on Saturday!!!!!!!
